The Hendrick Hudson Free Library provides the opportunity to volunteer or complete community service requirements within our neighborhood library. Under the supervision of staff, volunteers gain valuable experience working in a professional setting performing a variety of tasks related to the daily operation of a community library. Volunteer Opportunities


Shelf Readers: Monitor a section of the library’s collection and make sure items are in their proper place.

Program Assistance: Assist with events such as creative craft workshops or special programs for children or adults.

ENL After School Homework Help: Assist children grades kindergarten through 5th grade with their homework. Ideal for high school students. Dates/times are Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. beginning mid October and ending mid May. Volunteers can come one or on both days. *This program is a collaboration with Hendrick Hudson School District.
