How to Obtain a Library Card
Any person who lives, works, or attends school in Westchester County may have a free library card. To apply for a library card, simply present identification to verify the current address. Library cards are issued immediately with proof of address.
Library cards issued by the Hendrick Hudson Free Library may be used in any Westchester County Public Library. The card must be presented whenever materials are checked out. You are responsible for any materials borrowed on your card.

If your “home” library is other than the Hendrick Hudson Free Library, this information will be sent to that library, and a card will be issued from there. When you apply for a library card, you accept responsibility for all materials borrowed on the card and for all charges associated with its use. Please do not lend your card. Report its loss immediately. Give prompt notice of an address change.

A: Library cards are given free to anyone of any age who lives, works, or attends school in the Hendrick Hudson School District or lives in the Town of Cortlandt and is in the Lakeland School District.

A: To apply for a library card, simply come to the library in person with proof of residency, or complete this form on-line and submit it to the E-mail address listed.

A: We need to verify your current address, which can be found on identification such as a driver’s license, telephone bill, utility bill, etc. For on-line registrations, your card will be mailed to you, and that acts as your proof of residency.

A: With proper identification, your new card is available in only a few minutes while you wait.
