January 6th – Acrylic Workshop
Get acquainted with acrylics! Join artist Samantha Palmeri in an exploration of abstract gestural painting. Learn how to mix colors, create textures, evoke a mood, and create an original piece of art. Participants will draw from nature and our surroundings. A $25 materials fee is due by January 5. Note: This same class is being offered on February 3. Please sign up for one or the other class–not both. Register for January 6th or Register for February 3rd (beginning January 20th).

January 13th – Watercolor Values Workshop
This beginner class uses still-life to explore the ways that watercolor can be used to create different values. Participants will be able to experiment by creating values using different techniques such as more/less water, as well as experimenting using monochromatic and complementary colors to create values. Participants will walk away with a fi nished watercolor still-life painting. This class will be instructed by Lilly Gummerson, a multi-disciplinary artist from Mohegan Lake, New York. A $20 materials fee is due by January 12. Note: This same class is being offered on February 24. Please sign up for one or the other class–not both. January 7th & 14th – Paper Landscape Workshop instructed by Lilly Gummerson
Participants will be invited to come and create mosaic collages using construction paper inspired by the impressionist landscape paintings in the exhibition that will be on display in our Constance Dyckman Community Room. The workshop will educate and inform  participants about the techniques used to create impressionist paintings, using pieces of paper instead of brushstrokes. Register for January 7th or Register for January 14th.

January 21st & 28th – Creative Color Landscapes instructed by Lilly Gummerson
Participants will be invited to come and create landscape drawings using interesting and unexpected color combinations inspired by the impressionist landscape paintings in the exhibition that will be on display in our Constance Dyckman Community Room. The workshop will educate and inform participants about color relationships and how different colors in an artwork can inspire different moods and feelings. Register for January 21st or Register for January 28th.
